Kim D. wasn't quite ready when I walked to her trailer. I just told her her to take her time in getting ready. I waited outside. As I waiting somebody said hi to me by name from the back seat of a car driving by. At the time I had no idea who it was but I get that a lot. The car stopped at my immediate northern neighbor's trailer. The guy who said hi to me started walking towards me. It was Dario. I've known Dario for 25 yrs. We met in front of my trailer and we talked for a few mins until Kim D. came out. That was about 7 mins. after Dario and I met. He said that Lisa, who lives in the trailer immediately north of me, is his godaunt, whatever that means. We talked about past people we mutually know. Our conversation was brief because Kim D. came out and I had to go. Dario told me he frequently visits next door.
I walked back to Kim D's. car and got in. She drove me to Delmart. I went inside to see how Heather was doing. Today, well yesterday, was her first day working alone. She was doing fine. It was fortunate that I came in when I did because she had to use the bathroom. She did that and I worked the register for a few mins. until she came out. When she did come out I left and walked to Erica's apt.
I took a shower there. I left. I walked back to Delmart and put my insulin in the refrigerator. Erica's refrigerator isn't working. I know how bad that sucks especially since the weather is getting hotter. After I left Delmart I walked to Market Street Sandwiched. I could see their open sign from 2 blocks away. When I got to their door I discovered they weren't opened. I hate that shit. It wastes time. Their sign said they were opened on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It was about 4:00 p.m. when I was there. I guess they were closed for Easter. WTF is it with closing on religious holidays? Christianity on this issue takes the cake. Nothing is opened on Christmas. I'm just glad places don't close for Hanukkah, Eid Al-Adha, or any other Jewish or Muslim holidays. Everybody would be fucked if they were. We can do away with closings for Christian holidays too.
Since Market Street Sandwiches was closed I walked to La Guanajuato. I guess the Easter Bunny doesn't vist Mexico, thank God. Just kidding, God has nothing to do with it. Anyway, I ordered a chimicanga dinner and a taco. I had never eaten in the restaurant there before. I wanted a hard shell taco but there seemed to be a communication breakdown. I bought two 20oz Cokes in the store and then sat in the restaurant and waited for my food. The chimichangs was huge. I couldn't believe it. I got a soft shell taco too but quickly regretted ordering it. I ate my food but I couldn't finish it all. I hate that. It makes me feel like I've wasted money. There wasn't enough to take with me so I just left it. I paid at the counter where people pay for their groceries too. The whole meal came to less than $7.00. I couldn't believe it. I thought they made an error but I didn't bring it to their attention. The meal doesn't incluse the Cokes, which were $2.50 or the tip I left, $1.50. I would have left more but I did go up to a counter to order, got my own drinks, wasn't really served what I wanted (this is due to the person who took my order not being able to understand English so it's nobody's fault), and paid at a different counter. No person ever came to my table to ask if I wanted anything. The food was pretty good and I didn't even complain when I paid for it with my check card. The guy checking me out said he put $10.00 on my card but he gave me the change in cash. I guess there's a minimum charge at the store/restaurant on credit cards.
I walked to Delmart. I relieved Heather. She did the usual count out and left. I did all the duties except vacuumming. It wasn't needed. The night was steady. It was busier than I thought it would be for a Sunday night. I took 5 packs of Winston Ultra Lights and put them on my tab. I brought tobacco and tubes to Erica's apt because I thought I could roll some cigarettes at her place tonight or tomorrow. The tobacco and tubes are still there. Erica and her mother stopped by. I told Erica that I would probably spend the night at her place but I would also try to find a ride home. Someone was in the store when I said that and offered me a ride after Erica and her mom left. I took him up on his offer. His name is, get this, Corey, unbelievable, huh? He's a frequent customer in Delmart. He was the guy I talked to in Wal-Mart a few weeks ago about a car. Since I don't know either Coreys last name I'll refer to the one who gave me a ride tonight as Corey 2. The other Corey will be Corey 1.
Corey 2 came in just before I closed and bought a pack of cigarettes. He left to take the pack to his girlfriend's house. I closed the store and waited outside. He was there in less than 5 mins. after I closed. He gave me a ride home. I had him drop me off by the mailboxes for 3 reasons. I don't want him to know exactly where I live, the road here is shitty, and his car is loud. He drives a V-8 Camero with headers.
